Some of the highlights...

Music / Sound Studios

Sound studios

The Sound Engineering facility now boasts 5 state-of-the-art recording studios, including ProTools and Logic-enabled Apple Macs. These new facilities provide the basis for all Sound Engineering and Music Technology courses available at Herefordshire College of Technology. At the forefront of this investment lies a flagship studio based around an Audient mixing console - a high-end recording console that is widely used throughout the international music industry. Combined with industry-active staff, HCT’s Sound provision now offers an even more impressive experience for the learner.

Motor Vehicle Workshop

Motor vehicle workshop

The new purpose built workshop provides our Motor Vehicle Engineering students with all the standard equipment as expected, but in addition has MOT standard testing equipment – such as a rolling road for break testing, diagnostic equipment, two 2 post lifts and one 4 post lift, a vehicle valet area, a fleet of modern vehicles for students to work on, and the latest exhaust extracting equipment.

Electrical Installation Workshops

There are two new workshops that will complement our on-site training programmes. There are 27 dedicated work stations all with power supply and diagnostic equipment – providing enough capacity to cope with the training requirements of the Industry. The stand alone Apprenticeship courses continue to be popular as do the legislative courses such as Inspection and Testing and '17th Edition Regs'.

Furniture Workshops

Furniture workshops

Furniture students have a dedicated workshop with new bench facilities incorporating power supply and extraction. The facilities will further enhance the excellent reputation that this area holds with local industry, and nationally with higher education institutions.

“The new technology facilities at HCT provide the College with an excellent opportunity to further engage with the local and regional Engineering, ICT and Construction Industries.

Strong links with employers help us to structure our courses in such a way that we can have a positive impact on skill shortages in Herefordshire and assist with local skilled labour recruitment. Our first class teaching, educational resources and learning opportunities help students achieve their full potential. Our unrivalled facilities, training provided by experienced staff and the opportunity to gain specialist qualifications, means our students leave with the best occupational skills needed to progress successfully into employment and higher education.”
