Herefordshire College of Technology is by far the largest education and training organisation in the County, with over 7,000 students choosing to learn with us every year.
We have a simple mission, “Success for our Students”, and do everything possible to ensure that you receive the very best education and training. The College offers over 90 high quality full-time vocational courses in a wide range of subject areas from construction to catering, equine studies to engineering, and farriery to forestry. There are also many levels of programme available, from foundation studies to degree level courses, so there is bound to be something to match your needs.
We are delighted to be able to offer some of the UK’s best learning facilities and resources at our Hereford Campus, thanks to our £32 million new campus development, now almost completed. Our Holme Lacy Campus also offers some excellent learning resources, which include a state-of-the-art Centre for Rural Crafts and a superb commercial farm.
All of the courses advertised in the full-time courses section of this website lead to nationally recognised qualifications, a must if you are planning a rewarding career. Most of our students find full-time employment in their chosen vocation once they are fully qualified – others choose to continue their studies at university.
HCT’s most recent Ofsted inspection resulted in a very complimentary report. Inspectors concluded that HCT was a good and improving College with good student achievements and standards. Ofsted reported that: the range of programmes and courses is good at meeting the needs and interests of students; students receive good support and guidance; staff are very well qualified; and students enjoy their life at College. The Quality Assurance Agency's recent report on our higher education courses was outstanding, and many areas of good practice were identified.
