Mechanical Engineering
First Diploma - Level 2
This is an introductory course for potential Technicians and Engineers. This course combines both theory and practice, but has a significant practical content. After successful completion, progression onto the National Certificate or National Diploma in Engineering is recommended. This programme forms the ideal stepping-stone for the aspiring Engineer!
BTEC First Diploma is equivalent to four GCSEs grades A* - C.
Course content includes:
- Engineering workshop practises
- Materials
- Electronics
- Welding and fabrication
- Engineering maths
- Engineering science
- Using and interpreting information
- Engineering principles
Practical experience will be gained in motor vehicle, welding and fabrication workshops – putting theory into practise.
