Equine Courses
The College equine centre is a BHS Approved Riding School. We are also a BHS 'Where to Train' centre up to BHSAI level. The Centre is open to the public for riding lessons and we can also offer intensive tuition towards BHS exams.
The College has an enviable reputation due to the quality of its equine courses, high retention and achievement rates. It is also located in an area of outstanding natural beauty, offering over 600 acres of off road hacking.
All students are actively encouraged to take part in competitions run at the College. They do not have to have their own horse as they can use College horses. Students enjoy taking an active role in the day to day routine care of the horses, giving them essential industrial experience and so improving employability. Students are encouraged on all courses to work towards additional vocational qualifications.
The equine courses have been developed for ambitious young people wishing to follow a career within the equine industry. The Diploma courses provide learners with an excellent opportunity to develop a sound knowledge and understanding in horse care and riding through both practical and theory based sessions. The courses enable learners to develop practical skills alongside valuable work experience.
All students thrive in this friendly, caring environment. All courses benefit from visits to the Horse of the Year Show, Badminton Horse Trials, National Stud, British Racing School and the Three Counties Veterinary Centre. This is alongside module related visits to local stud yards and competition yards.
