Travel and Tourism Courses

The Travel and Tourism Industry is an exciting and popular sector. In 2012 London will host the Olympics and you could be a part of this exciting event!

Jean-Claude Baumgarten, World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) president said: "Our research shows that UK travel and tourism is in a strong position and is poised to do well over the coming decade”. The WTTC estimates that travel and tourism accounts for 2.6 million jobs in the UK and the sector is expected to grow at 3.1% a year over the next 10 years – so there may never be a better time to join!

Out and About

Travel and tourism learners benefit from numerous visits that provide first-hand experience to support their learning at college. Early in the term learners often visit places such as:

  • Virgin Atlantic Cabin Crew Training Centre
  • Go Ape
  • Symonds Yat
  • Ice-Skating in Cardiff
  • Drayton Manor (includes talks by guest speakers)

These visits assist with completing course units such as: planning an event, UK destinations, marketing and attractions. They are also good ice-breakers so learners get to know each other and develop team-working skills.

Visits

We offer a range of exciting trips and visits to enhance your learning experience. This includes UK day visits and a European residential. We also offer you the opportunity to travel to long-haul destinations in both years 1 and 2. This will include an additional cost to your course fees and is a noncompulsory trip.
