Introduction
The Foundation Degree is a vocationally focussed higher education qualification which integrates academic and work based learning. It represents a substantial step towards acquiring an initial degree. It is intended to equip learners with the skills and knowledge relevant to their employment in industry so satisfying the needs of employees and employers. The focus is on enhancing and developing the necessary skills, knowledge and insight to enable them to make a valued contribution into industry as managers and leaders.
Entry Requirements
Students would normally possess at least 4 GCSEs of grade C or above and/or a level 3 qualification (eg NVQ or BTEC) or the relevant occupational experience. A competency in literacy and numeracy is desirable.

Course Content
Your capability will be enhanced through the application and knowledge of management techniques, principles, theories and models.
Module titles may include:

- Making Business Decisions
- Economics
- Management
- Marketing
- Finance and Accounting
- Human Resource Management
- Legal and Ethical Framework
- Leadership and Managing People
- Research Methods and Project
- Leadership in Practice
- Coaching in the Workplace
- C.P.D.
Assessment
This will be achieved using a variety of forms including assignments, presentations, projects and case studies. All students will receive regular feedback on their work and progress from their tutors. A personal tutor will guide students in the creation and maintenance of their Personal Development Portfolios.
Although attendance is once a week during an afternoon and an evening, regular workshops and on line tutor support will also be integral to the programme.
Progression Opportunities
On successful completion of the Foundation Degree you may apply to join the third year of a relevant Honours Degree Course at the University of Worcester or another suitable institution. You will have achieved 240 CAT points.
