Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resources Management Level 7

This course is brand new from the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development and replaces the current Professional Development Scheme. The course is the industry standard for the professional HR Manager and links to the new C.I.P.D. HR Profession Map. It provides high quality, advanced learning and development at the right pace for busy HR managers to develop and refi ne higher level managerial knowledge and skills.

The balance between the needs of the Manager and Organisation is achieved by the negotiation of an individually tailored approach. The course is carefully linked to the requirements of a higher-level Masters Degree.

Entry Requirements

This course is designed for the practising HR Manager, graduate or HR practitioner with a Level 5 qualification.

Potential candidates should apply on the relevant application form and will attend a suitability interview. A written offer of a course place may then follow. You will need to be able to write academic or management reports to be able to complete this course.

Course Content

Your capability will be enhanced through the application and knowledge of HR techniques, principles, theories and models. Unit titles could include:

  • HRM in context
  • Developing skills for business leadership
  • Leading, managing and developing people
  • Investigating a business issue from an HR perspective
  • Understanding and implementing coaching and mentoring
  • Resourcing and Talent Management
  • Performance Management
  • Employment Law

This course approach assumes full knowledge, understanding, skill and competence in the areas covered at the Level 5 programme delivered by Herefordshire College of Technology.

Course assessment will take place via assignments, projects, exams and portfolios.

Individual units may be studied as stand alone courses to complete a Level 7 Award in HRM / HRD – please ask for details.

Progression Opportunities

Successful candidates can use the CATS points gained on this Masters level study programme towards a full Masters degree such as the MA in HRM.
