Management:
Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership Level 7
Introduction
This course is the global standard for the professional development of high ability and strategic managers. It provides high quality, advanced learning and development at the right pace for busy managers to develop and refine higher level managerial knowledge and skills.
The balance between the needs of the Manager and Organisation is achieved by the negotiation of an individually tailored approach. This has a blended learning approach with 8 units delivered over 8 monthly workshops with additional drop in sessions and on-line tutor support. The course is carefully linked to the requirements of a higher-level masters degree and also links to the requirements of Chartered Manager status. This qualification has a credit rating of up to 120 CATS points at certain universities, please discuss this with the Tutor.
Entry Requirements
This course is designed for the practising Manager or Graduate.
Potential candidates should apply on the relevant application form and will attend a suitability interview. A written offer of a course place may then follow. You will need to be able to write academic or management reports and/or be in a strategic position in your organisation to join this fast paced approach.

You will study the individual and interactive aspects of managing your own self development, Managing performance, Finance and resource management, Managing business challenges, Managing operations, Financial planning, Human resource planning, Project specifications and objectives and Marketing planning. This course approach assumes full knowledge, understanding, skill and competence in the areas covered at the NQF Level 5 programme delivered by Herefordshire College of Technology.

Individual units may be studied as stand alone courses to complete a Level 7 Award in Strategic Management & Leadership – such as Strategic Marketing or Strategic Finance. Please call to discuss individual requirements.
Assessment
This will be achieved using a variety of forms including assignments, presentations, projects and case studies. All students will receive regular feedback on their work and progress from their tutors. A personal tutor will guide students in the creation and maintenance of their Personal Development Portfolios.
Although attendance is once a week during an afternoon and an evening, regular workshops and on line tutor support will also be integral to the programme.
