NVQ 4 Management
Chartered Management Institute
Introduction
A flexible, rolling course, offering realistic routes to competence-based accreditation. Managers often reach their status through hard work and perseverance within an organisation and do so without the benefit of a recognised management qualification. An NVQ at level 4 redresses this situation by certifying a transferable skill – so important in the labour market of the 21st Century. The course provides a balance between the needs of the manager and the organisation, by offering a fully flexible approach to competence accreditation, and it is carefully linked to the requirements of higher level qualifications.
Entry Requirements
Learners must be employed in a management role at this level.
Course Content
You will provide evidence of competence on the following units from the National Occupational Standards for Management and Leadership, produced by the Management Standards Centre (MSC). The five mandatory units are:
- Develop and implement operational plans
- Encourage innovation in your area
- Develop productive working relationships with colleagues
- Ensure health and safety requirements are met in your area
- Manage business processes
Plus 3 optional units which are discussed at enrolment to ascertain suitability
You will be required to prove your knowledge, understanding and competence in the five mandatory and three optional NVQ units through the production of relevant, authenticated and current evidence and through responses to assessor questions to confirm knowledge requirements.
Progression Opportunities
On successful completion of this course, progression to a level 5 NVQ is available. Alternatively, students may consider a Diploma in Management & Leadership.
