Course Content
This course provides an introduction to coaching and mentoring. The programme is intended for people who are considering a move into a role as a coach or mentor.
Course Objectives
- Introduce you to coaching and mentoring
- Learn about organisational change and the role that coaching and mentoring has in your organisation
- Investigate the coaching process
- Implement tools and techniques for effective coaching and mentoring
- Assess the wider issues of coaching and mentoring
Course Outline
The programme is varied and will adapt to the requirements of the group but will cover an introduction to areas such as:
- Be able to explain the principles of mentoring
- Be able to explain the benefits of mentoring in the workplace
- Be able to apply mentoring tools and techniques
- Understand the nature and purpose of coaching
- Know how to use a coaching style to improve performance in the workplace
- Be able to identify the ways in which coaching can be implemented in an organisation.
Entry Requirements
Prospective candidates will receive a telephone interview prior to registration to ensure suitability both to the candidate and the awarding body.
Assessment Methods
Throughout the course there will be a series of activities, exercises, projects and assignments to confirm knowledge and understanding.
Progression Route
CIPD Level 3 in Diploma in HRP or Certificate in LDP.
