Introduction to Carpentry

Course Content

This course aims to provide you with the experienced methods employed in basic carpentry such as:

  • Tools and their usage
  • Basic joints
  • Fitting and fixing mouldings and hinges and hinging techniques. 
  • Locks, latches and letter plates
  • Fitting door handles, window furniture and security devices. 
  • Scribing to irregular surfaces
  • Repairing rotten or damaged timber components

Entry Requirements

No formal entry requirements although an interest or a project in mind for you to use your new found skills would be required to get the most from this hands-on course

Materials

  • Protective clothing and footwear
  • Equipment will be provided
