First Aid at Work - Refresher

Course Content

This 2-day course is designed to refresh current First Aid at Work Certificate holders and covers all aspects of the First Aid at Work course.

To be able to sit the Re-qualification course, you must hold a current First Aid Certificate, which last three years.

This course can be taken up to 3 months before the expiry date of your certificate. The new certificate will then take effect from the date of expiry, or up to 28 days after the certificate expiry date.

Once renewed the certificate is valid for a further 3 years.

It includes training in:

  • How to act in the event of an emergency
  • CPR ( cardio-pulmonary resuscitation )
  • Unconscious casualty
  • Wounds & bleeding
  • Burns & scalds
  • Injuries to bones, muscles and joints
  • Shock
  • Eye injuries
  • Poisoning
  • Dealing with a casualty overcome by gas and fumes
  • Transportation of a casualty
  • Recognise major and minor illnesses and take appropriate action

Recommended Reading Materials

Books and reference material will be provided on the day of the course.
