Introduction to Digital Imaging

Course Content

This short course is designed to introduce you to the basic skills needed to begin the journey into using a digital camera, downloading images, editing and printing.

  • Functions of a digital camera
  • Memory cards (different types) and card readers etc
  • Connecting to a computer
  • Transferring images and burning to a CD
  • Using basic image editing software
  • Printing
  • Scanning and repairing old photos
  • Using different types of software (i.e. Paint Shop Pro)
  • Creating multiple layer images

Entry Requirements

No previous experience is required although you will have a keen interest in photography and want to make the most from your digital photographs, whether through printing out a family album or safely storing away precious memories on a CD.

Also, you will be a beginner or above in use of a computer to join this course

Materials

  • A notepad and pen, digital camera if you have one
  • Leads to connect camera to computer
  • Old photo’s for scanning and repairing
