Entry Requirements
Before attending this course, candidates must have achieved the following Awards – Chainsaw and Related Operations CS30, Felling Small Trees CS31, Climb Trees and Perform Aerial Rescue CS38. The course will cover the aerial operation of chainsaws using different techniques for delimbing trees.

Assessment/Progression
Following this course candidates will be assessed for Award to Operate a Chainsaw from a Rope and Harness CS39. This is a practical assessment. Tests are organised separately by NPTC and can be taken at College or on you own site. Tests take place on a separate day, test date will be confirmed at the start of the course. Candidates can progress to CS40 Crown Thinning and Reduction, CS41 Tree Dismantling Operations, CS44 Fell Standing Stems. The College does not regularly run these training courses, but special arrangements can be made for groups of four candidates.
