Fees Guidance

StudentsHow much do I pay?

Fees have been included alongside the relevant courses to act as a guide when choosing your course. Fees quoted, assume learner eligibility for government funding. Not all fees are available at the time of print and some may be subject to change or may exclude material and exam fees. For these reasons, we advise that you call our enquiry line to find out the costs you may incur at enrolment. When you are offered a place on a course, this is conditional on payment of the appropriate fee at enrolment.

! Please note: Those aged under 19 are exempt from tuition fees and if you are in receipt of a means tested benefit, you are likely to receive a discount on the fees shown. (This does not apply to short Recreational Courses)

How do I find out if I am entitled to reduced fees?

If you are in receipt of a means tested benefit (e.g. job seekers allowance, income support, housing / council tax benefit, disabled working allowance etc) or are an unwaged dependant, you may be entitled to a reduction in fees. Documentary evidence of benefits received must be provided. If you are16-18 years old you will not be charged tuition fees. For further information please ring 0800 032 1986.

Can I pay by instalments?

You can pay by instalments on certain high cost courses. We regret that we are unable to offer this facility on courses where the total cost payable is less than £150. The instalment plan consists of 25% deposit at enrolment followed by three equal monthly payments by standing order, commencing in December. Account facilities are available to employers, provided that written evidence is produced in advance of the student’s enrolment, indicating that the employer is willing to pay fees on the student’s behalf.

HCT accepts payment by cash, cheque (with banker’s card) or credit card (Visa and MasterCard only.)

What happens if I need a refund?

Classes need to be viable in order to run. If there are not enough students, a full refund will be paid. Refunds for any other reason are only granted in exceptional circumstances at the discretion of the College.

Overseas students (non-EU)

HCT welcomes students from overseas and we’re sure that you will find HCT an ideal place to study. HCT has attracted students from all over the world, including Australia, China, USA and many other countries.

What fees will apply if I am an overseas student?

Fees for students who are from overseas are applied at a different rate from those indicated in this guide. For information regarding course fees, when applying as an overseas student (this includes those who have not lived in the EU for more than 3 years) please contact the Student Services Team.
