Course Content

This course is designed for those who are new to shooting or have done some shooting and would like more training in safety, handling and looking after the shotgun. The course also includes a practical session of clay pigeon shooting with tuition both days

  • Shotgun and Cartridge types
  • Shotguns and the Law
  • Cleaning and Storage of Shotguns
  • Shotgun handling and safety
  • Live quarry shooting theory
  • Clay shooting practical

Entry Requirements

No previous experience is required

Materials

The following equipment can be borrowed from the College or you can bring your own

  • Head protection (cap)
  • Ear protection (muffs)
  • Suitable outdoor clothing(Not provided)
  • Eye protection (safety specs or
    shooting glasses)
  • If you have a gun you wish to bring with you please contact the tutor prior to attending this course
  • Students are welcome to bring a camera
  • Please do not bring your own cartridges
