A Year of Success for HCT Catering Students

Scott Davies and Rachel WilliamsThis year has been a particularly successful one for young chefs Scott Davies and Rachel Williams. Both trained at the College and their skills were recognised with awards at this Year’s Flavours of Herefordshire Food Festival.

Scott Davies, , finished his NVQ Level 3 course at HCT this year and is now working for The Stewing Pot in Hereford. Scott won Industry Chef of the Year to follow on from his success at the Three Counties Black Pear Challenge, earlier in 2008 where along with fellow students Katie Lane and Nathan Mizen they received the coveted 'Judges Choice' award.

19 year old Rachel Williams also NVQ Level 3 won the award for Young College Chef. Both students were invited to take part in a cookery demonstration to reproduce the winning dishes, made during the competition, which was held here at the Herefordshire College of Technology.
