Bright Sparks at Taylor Lane

Taylor Lane celebrated last week, as apprentices Joab Smith, age, 22, & Steven Hughes, age, 26, both completed their NVQ level 2 in Welding and Fabrication.

Joab and Steven decided to take an Apprenticeship with HCT, who helped them find a work placement with Taylor Lane. The Company specialises in timber and steel products and has worked closely with the College, employing many aspiring apprentices.

Taylor Lane was officially recognised by the Herefordshire, Worcestershire and Shropshire Training Providers at the Celebration of Learning Achievement Awards Ceremony and won the Employer Award for Herefordshire in 2007. This award winning company is one of many employers who take on apprentices each year and assist them with their training through HCT’s apprenticeship programmes.

Joab stated “the training had been really useful and has really benefited my job”. Younger brother, Jake, has decided to follow in Joab’s footsteps and is due to start his apprenticeship with HCT sometime in the near future. Jake will also be employed by Taylor Lane.
