HCT and Me @ Work
HCT attended the Herefordshire Council 14-19 Team ‘Me@Work’ event on June 30th, held at the Three Counties showground. Over 500 students from all the local schools enjoyed an informative event whereby they could come and meet education and training providers, find out more about a range of careers and take part in activities including pottery sessions, soccer skills and wood turning.
HCT’s Animal Care team took along some South African snails, a variety of Stick Insects and ‘Diesel’ a Springer Spaniel cross breed. In addition, two students from the Construction Department gave a timber frame building demonstration, the Motor Vehicle Team and their students took along their ‘Locost’ kit car and outside, one of HCT’s Blacksmiths had an avid audience as he explained and demonstrated some of the various skills and techniques of the trade.
