HCT Football Academy Stars Reunite
The Sports Performance & Excellence courses at HCT's Holme Lacy campus have now provided three potential footballing superstars who are all making a name for themselves in the English First Division.
Former students Sam Gwynn, Andy Williams and Craig Jones have steadily climbed the ranks at Hereford United and for the first time ever, all three featured in Hereford United's away fixture at Yeovil Town.
The game began well for Hereford and Andy Williams was unlucky to see a great effort blocked by the Yeovil keeper. After a first half that saw plenty of open play and goalmouth incident it was the Bulls who finished the half one goal to the good. The second half produced more of the same and turned into a feisty encounter with Sam Gwynne in the heart of the action! With the game drawing to a close it was looking like a long overdue win for the Bulls but in the fifth of the four added minutes Yeovil's Chris Weale rose to head a last gasp equaliser.
So ultimately it was disappointment for the former Holme Lacy students though they all played a massive part in the game and said that it was great to finally play together.
