Creative Crafts Exhibition 2011

HCT presented the annual Creative Crafts Exhibition on 30th June and 1st July. Held in the Event Suite at the Hereford Campus, Folly Lane, the exhibition provided a large and stunning show for all who visited.
Opening the preview evening on 29th June, Howard Repton, Team Leader for Construction at HCT, welcomed many guests including The Right Worshipful, The Mayor of Hereford Councillor Julie Woodward and her Consort Mr Andrew Woodward.
A special mention went to Joanna Sokol who, for the second time, has won the Highly Commended Award by City and Guilds - quite an astounding achievement!
The event showcases the outstanding work produced by students studying a range of courses including furniture making, blacksmithing, patchwork and quilting, passementerie, soft furnishings, embroidery and fashion and millinery.
The Madam Mayor commented: “The workmanship is outstanding, there is tremendous talent in Herefordshire and we don’t often get to see it and realise it is here. The exhibition is fantastic, the crafts are tremendous and the furniture displayed blew me away. I can appreciate the workmanship and skill - it is truly amazing.
“I am so glad I came - it is the beauty of seeing the first thought right through to the finished item,” she added. We wish to thank everyone who visited and supported the exhibition.
