Faculty of Community Studies Awards 2011
Almost 200 people turned up to Herefordshire College of Technology’s Faculty of Community Studies awards on July 5th. The evening was held to celebrate the success of students on courses including: Access to HE, Accounting, Beauty Therapy, Business, Catering, Childcare, Hairdressing, Public Services and Travel and Tourism.
Rebecca White, Sales and Marketing Manager for Andrew Morris Estate Agents, gave a superb speech as Guest of Honour and presented awards for Top Student, Top Practical Student and Progression across the subject areas.
Rebecca has had close contact with the College for a number of years, assisting students with new business ventures through the Young Enterprise programme.
Well done and congratulations to all, especially Dan Cooper, a BTEC Advanced Diploma in Business student, who was awarded a Top Student Award. He was also presented with the Anthony Barrington Cup (kindly donated by Mr and Mrs Barrington) for his outstanding contribution to the course and the College. Dan took on the role of Managing Director of Young Enterprise company Majik. He has also been a course representative, a member of the Student Council and Student Governor at the College. In addition to this he has gained Distinction and A grades in all his modules. Dan will begin a degree in Events Management at Greenwich University in September.
