Fundraising at HCT

Staff and students at Herefordshire College of Technology have had a great start to the year raising money for two very special charities, Help for Hero’s and Little Princess Trust.

Foundation Studies students have completed their Fundraising and Teamwork units of the ASDAN (Award Scheme Development and Accreditation Network) course.  The students produced a Rag-mag, a tradition from America RAG meaning ‘raising and giving’. The publication was offered for sale throughout the College and other organisations such as Hereford Hospital, raising just under £200 for both charities. On Thursday 21st of January, the students presented the cheques to Wendy Tarplee founder of Little Princess Trust and Andy Trickett, a former soldier and Herefordshire County Volunteer, for Help for Hero’s.

Tutor, Jan De Bishoppe, sportingly had her long locks chopped for charity. Her hair will be sent off to make wigs in aid of the Little Princess Trust and she has also raised approximately £300 from sponsorship.

Well done Jan!
