Agricultural Engineering Students Bring the Past to Life
HCT Agricultural Engineering students are undertaking a restoration project as part of their studies.
A generous member of staff, at the College’s Holme Lacy campus, has kindly donated a Massey Ferguson TEH 20 1948 8mm petrol tractor to the campus’s Agricultural Engineering department.
It is estimated that the restoration project should take 2 - 3 years to complete and will be incorporated into the students lessons where appropriate, thus benefiting their studies as well as giving them a goal to aim for.
Tutor, Andy Tabberer-Mills stated “the restoration of the tractor will give the students something to work towards and will also improve morale and give a sense of achievement and belonging. Eventually we hope to take the tractor to some local agricultural shows which will enable the students to showcase all the determination and hard work that has gone into restoring this beautiful classic. In the future, we hope to obtain a plough and compete in some of the county’s local ploughing competitions”.
