Financial Support

For students who start their FE full-time courses aged between 16 - 18 years, there are no tuition or examination fees.

Assistance with fees

You may be entitled to a reduction of course fees if you are in receipt of a means tested benefit. Documentary evidence must be provided. Please call 0800 032 1986 for further details.

Education Maintenance Allowance

The EMA is a weekly allowance available to full-time students aged 16-18, subject to household income.  Those eligible could receive an allowance of up to £30 per week. Weekly payments are dependant on 100% attendance and you may also receive bonus payments if you remain on course and make good progress with your studies.  For further information and application packs, please contact Alex Hedges on 01432 365382.

Adult Learning Grant

The Adult Learning Grant is available to students aged 19+ (subject to conditions and eligibility) who are studying for a full-time, first Level 2 or 3 qualification.  For further information please contact Pam Cox on 01432 365388.

Learner Support Fund

Students from low income backgrounds, or who face financial difficulty, can apply for assistance from the Learner Support Fund to enable them to enter education or continue their studies.  This is a limited fund, which is means tested, therefore it may not be possible to allocate money to all applicants.  For further information, please contact Pam Cox on 01432 365388.
