Rural Crafts Courses - Blacksmithing, Welding
The Rural Crafts Centre at our Holme Lacy campus is recognised as the foremost national centre for Smiths who wish to work in the various areas of forged iron, ranging from traditional to contemporary design work. A good Blacksmith is never out of work.
Welding is the joining of plates or sections of metals together by applying extreme heat. There is an ongoing skills shortage for skilled labour in this area.
